SEEDS OF WISDOM RETREAT- MAY 2008

The Memorial Day weekend is usually a time when many folks go hiking or work in their gardens, but 23 people made their way to the Abbey that weekend for the Planting Seeds to Cultivate Wisdom retreat.

By the end of retreat, most people felt that powerful seeds of both wisdom and compassion had been planted. The weather was beautiful, and the group bonded very quickly to each other and to the teachings on karma that Venerable Chodron gave.

Understanding cause and effect is a powerful antidote to many of the misconceptions that arise due to ignorance.  Seven of the participants were so inspired that they took refuge on the last day. It was a beautiful way to end the retreat for all of us.

The lovely spring flowers greet everyone as they arrive.

With a full house, a number of our retreatants tented in the Abbey garden under blue skies by day and starry skies at night.
