Geshe Yeshe Thabkhe teaches The Rice Seedling Sutra

Thursday 9-11 Pacific time, until April 6

English interpretation by Katrina Brooks

We are honored that eminent scholar Geshe Yeshe Thabkhe has accepted our request to teach from his commentary, The Rice Seedling SutraBuddha’s Teachings on Dependent Arising.

The Buddha explains in many sutras that to understand his Dharma is to understand dependent arising. The Rice Seedling Sutra is one of the best known. Geshe Yeshe Thabkhe’s commentary explores dependent arising, and the corollary teaching of emptiness, through this sutra and others, as well as Indian commentaries.

Geshe Thabkhe is known as one of the greatest living scholars of the Tibetan tradition, based on his long lifetime of impeccable learning, study, practice, and teaching.

Sravasti Abbey is deeply grateful to have received Geshe-la’s complete teachings on Arydeva’s Four Hundred Verses on the Middle Way,  Dharmakirti’s Pramanavarttika, and Kamalashila’s middle Stages of Meditation. Recordings of all three series’ are freely available on the Abbey YouTube channel.

The Rice Seedling SutraBuddha’s Teachings on Dependent Arising, translated and edited by Joshua and Diana Cutler is published by Wisdom Publications. You can order the text in paperback or ebook.

No registration required. Teaching will be broadcast over YouTube live.
