How to Meditate

with Ven. Sangye Khadro

June 26-27

10-12 am and 2-4 pm

What is meditation? The Tibetan word for meditation is gom, which means “to become familiar.” Thus, meditating is “making the mind familiar with positive attitudes and states.” The real purpose of meditating in Buddhism is to gradually transform the mind, reducing its negative and harmful aspects and increasing its positive and beneficial ones.

The course is designed for people with little or no knowledge of meditation and Buddhism. It’s especially for those who want to learn to meditate, but who avoid anything “religious.”

For longtime medtators, it’s a great opportunity to go deeper into practice and clarify doubts with a teacher who has been practicing for almost 50 years.

Course will include simultaneous Portuguese translation.
