Labor Day Weekend Retreat with Geshe Dadul Namgyal

September 1, 2023 - September 4, 2023

Labor Day Weekend Retreat

The Perfection of Ethics
with Geshe Tenzin Chodrak (Dadul Namgyal)

September 1-4

In person and online

Geshe says goodbye to guest.

“Without ethical conduct you can’t accomplish your own well being,” says the bodhisttva Togme Sangpo in his epic poem, “The Thirty-Seven Practice of Bodhisattvas.”

Ethical conduct is the foundation of all Buddhist practice. The ethic of non-harming is the besis of all non-violent movements. Understanding Buddhist ethics lays the groundwork for our own happiness and is the framework for how we can benefit society.

Join Geshe Tenzin Chodrak (Dadul Namgyal) as he continues the series of Labor Day retreats on the six perfections—focusing this year on the perfection of ethics.

Geshe-la brings his lifetime of Buddhist practice, along with his warmth and gentle humor, to bring this crucial topic alive. Please join him!

The retreat includes teachings, meditation, and facilitated discussion.

Ethical conduct is the second of the six perfections—also translated as the six far-reaching practices or the six paramitas. These six describe the methods by which bodhisattvas transform their minds into the mind of a buddha, a fully awakened one. These six practices are generosity, ethical conduct, fortitude or patience, joyous effort, concentration, and wisdom.
