Medford, MA: Good Karma
April 15 @ 7:00 pm - April 16 @ 4:00 pm EDT
“Good Karma: How to Create the Causes for Happiness and Avoid Suffering,”
Teachings with Ven. Thubten Chodron
Why do things happen the way they do in our lives? How do we create the causes for a happy life? Join Ven. Chodron as she teaches from her book, Good Karma: How to Create the Causes for Happiness and Avoid Suffering, a commentary on the classic thought training poem, “The Wheel of Sharp Weapons.”
The Buddhist practice of thought training helps us overcome our self-centered attitude and replace it with an attitude that cherishes others. This, in turn, leads us to act in ways that naturally lead away from suffering and toward happiness—in short, to create good karma.
Thubten Chodron shows, clearly and practically, how to eliminate the causes of anxiety, fear, and depression and to create the causes of joyful liberation for oneself and all others.
