How to See Yourself as You Really Are
course with Ven. Thubten Chodron
What’s the root of all our problems? We don’t know who we are and how things actually exist. This is the very heart of the Buddha’s teaching.
Ven. Thubten Chodron continues teaching from the book, How to See Yourself as You Really Are, by His Holiness the Dalai Lama and translated by Jeffrey Hopkins, to help us understand ourselves and our world from a more realistic—and loving—perspective. As these teachings delve into philosophy, some background in Buddhist thought is helpful, but not required. Ven. Chodron will begin teaching the final section of the book, “Deepening Love with Insight,” beginning with Chapter 21, “Feeling Empathy.” To prepare, you can see previous years’ teachings on our You Tube Channel.
Arrive by 3:00 on Friday. Retreat begins with a live-streamed Lamrim teaching that begins promptly at 5:55. Retreat ends after 2:00 on Monday.
