Nyung Ne Chenrezig Purification Retreat

Nyung Ne  Chenrezig Purification Retreat
with Ven. Tenzin Tsepal and the Abbey Community
September 27 – October 2
in person only

The Nyung Ne practice is a powerful purification method, which strengthens the practitioner’s refuge and relationship with Chenrezig, Buddha of Compassion.
The retreat includes taking the 8 Mahayana precepts, making many prostrations, and one day of refraining from all food, drink and talking aside from reciting prayers and mantra.
Begun by the nun Gelong-ma Palmo several centuries ago, the Nyung Ne practice purifies the mind, deepens compassion, and generates vast amounts of merit.
The Abbey is offering two Nyung Ne cycles, back to back. Practitioners can choose to attend the first cycle only or do the full retreat.
The Nyung Ne practice is rigorous. Applicants should have some familiarity with Chenrezig practice and be in good health, especially being free of hypo- or hyper-glycemic concerns, including diabetes. Read the retreat resources below to determine if this retreat is for you.
Read background info on the Nyung Ne practice and download the practice text. Â Cultivating a Compassionate Heart: The Yoga Method of Chenrezig has essential information on the practice. Please read it to prepare for attending the Nyung Ne Retreat.
All Abbey Dharma programs are offered freely, and your offering is welcomed. Make an offering here.
