Seven-Point Mind Training – Weekly with Ven. Sangye Khadro
July 11-September 26
Saturdays – 7 – 8:30 pm Pacific Time
Sundays – 10 – 11:30 am GMT + 8, Singapore Time
At the request of Amitabha Buddhist Centre in Singapore, Ven. Sangye Khadro will lead a series of twelve talks and meditations on Tibetan Buddhist classic, The Seven-Point Mind Training.
Composed by the 12th-century Tibetan master Geshe Chekawa, The Seven-Point Mind Training is one of the earliest texts on the topic of Lo-jong (mind-training or thought-transformation).
The Lo-jong tradition teaches us how to transform our mind so that we are less angry, selfish, greedy, arrogant, and confused, and more compassionate, altruistic, calm, and wise. Through these teachings we learn how to make our lives more meaningful and beneficial for others, how to be more peaceful and happy, and how to get closer to enlightenment.
The talks will also include some material from a later Lo-jong text, Mind Training Like the Rays of the Sun, by Nam-kha Pel, who was a direct disciple of Lama Tsongkhapa, founder of the Gelug tradition of Tibetan Buddhism.
