Whether you’re new or seasoned with the Buddha’s teachings, this talk will give practical tips on how to increasingly expand the mind to encompass the welfare of others—and experience the peace and satisfaction this brings. There will be an open Q&A session with Ven. Lamsel after her talk.

More about the teacher
Born in Sydney Australia, Bhikshuni Thubten Lamsel first encountered Buddhism when volunteering in Nepal in 2009. Inspired by the practical teachings of Venerable Thubten Chodron, she moved to train with her at Sravasti Abbey in 2017, taking shiksamana ordination in 2018. She has lived and trained at Sravasti Abbey since that time. Currently, her duties primarily include facilitating the broadcasting and archival of live teachings, prison outreach, event management, and managing the library. She took full ordination at Fo En Si Temple in Taiwan in April 2024 and has received various sets of teachings on the prohibitive and prescriptive precepts as part of the Abbey’s monastic training program. When opportunities arise, she enjoys offering meditation workshops and introductory classes on Buddhism in the local community and online. Before ordination, she worked in public health research and health promotion.
