Many religious traditions, including Buddhism, teach us to love others. This is one of the most beautiful and universal aspects of spiritual teachings. But they don’t always talk about loving ourselves. This is important too—if we don’t feel love and compassion for ourselves, it will be difficult to fully love others. Sadly, many people nowadays feel hateful and critical towards themselves. In this talk, Ven. Khadro will explain how we can overcome such unskilful attitudes and learn to be more kind and friendly towards ourselves, which will help us be more kind and friendly toward others.
