Samsara, Nirvana, and Buddha Nature
Ven. Thubten Chodron teaches from the Library of Wisdom and Compassion book series
co-authored by His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Ven. Thubten Chodron
Ven. Thubten Chodron continues her line by line reading and commentary of the remarkable multi-volume book series encompassing the entire Buddhist path, The Library of Wisdom and Compassion. His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Ven. Chodron are co-authors.
The book series and this course offer a rich opportunity to delve into important aspects of Buddhist philosophy. The opening chapters of Volume 3, Samsara, Nirvana, and Buddha Nature, dive deeply into the Buddha’s foundational teaching: the Four Noble Truths.
The course includes meditations,, daily teachings, and structured group discussions. We recommend reading the first three chapters prior to the course.
Ven. Chodron taught the first volume, Approaching the Budddhist Path, in weekly installments over two years. You can watch the series here. She began Volume 2, The Foundation of Practice, in two residential courses (see them here) and is now continuing this volume in weekly Livestreamed teachings. (Join in here.)
Like all Abbey programs, the The Library of Wisdom and Compassion course is freely, and your offerings are welcomed.
The detailed schedule and registration link will be available in March.
