Sharing the Dharma & Lama Tsongkhapa Day
December 10 @ 9:45 am - 3:00 pm PST
The is the last Sharing the Dharma Day of the season, coinciding with Lama Tsongkhapa Day, when we make many light offerings to honor the founder of our lineage. All are welcome!
This year, merit from the light offerings will be dedicated towards victims of gun violence. We’ve registered this event as one of the hundreds of nationwide vigils and events to end gun violence on the five-year mark of the Sandy Hook Tragedy.
One Sunday a month, Sravasti Abbey opens our doors for Sharing the Dharma Day, an opportunity for newcomers and old friends to explore the Buddha’s teachings and share in community fellowship.
Sharing the Dharma Day topics are drawn from the book, An Open-hearted Life: Transformative Methods for Compassionate Living, by Abbey founder and abbess Ven. Thubten Chodron and Eastern Washington University psychologist Russell Kolts.
People from all faiths and backgrounds can apply the principles explored on Sharing the Dharma Day to enhance their lives. Bring a vegetarian potluck dish (please no meat, eggs, garlic, onions, leeks or radishes) and come with an open mind. All are welcome!
