Hosted by The Contemplative Consciousness Network
The Path of Wisdom and Compassion
A Conversation with Venerable Thubten Chodron
A special Sharing the Dharma Day!
Sunday, November 17
9 am Pacific Time
In-person and on Zoom

Join Venerable Thubten Chodron as she shares the behind-the-scenes journey of an extraordinary literary endeavor—her decades-long collaboration with His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet to write the 10-volume series, The Library of Wisdom and Compassion. The talk will be offered live at the Abbey, and broadcast by its sponsor, The Contemplative Consciousness Network in London.
The Library of Wisdom and Compassion presents the Dalai Lama’s practical approach to the Buddha’s teachings, guiding Western audiences through the complete path to full awakening in a clear and comprehensive manner. Volume 10, Vajrayana and the Culmination of the Path, will be released in December.
In this session Venerable Chodron will share her personal experiences of working closely with the Dalai Lama, offering unique insights and anecdotes. Additionally, she will provide a teaching on the key topics in the series, enriching our understanding of the Dharma from this remarkable collaborative effort.
In usual Sharing the Dharma Day fashion, the event also includes a vegetarian potluck lunch. There will not be time for a formal discussion.
After lunch, guests are welcomed to stay for a 2:00 pm Zoom talk, “The Diamond Sutra on Four Delusions Regarding Interdependence,” with Professor Daniel Cozort, part of a series of online Dharma teachings honoring Prof. Jeffrey Hopkins.
It’s a rich and full day of the Dharma, our last Sharing the Dharma Day of the year. Please join us!
The monthly Sharing the Dharma Day events resume in March 2025, when we begin to study Ven. Thubten Chodron’s timeless text, Working with Anger.
