Praise of Dependent Arising with Dagri Rinpoche

June 11 @ 3:00 pm - June 19 @ 2:00 pm PDT

Rinpoche will also confer the 4-Armed Chenrezig and White Tara Empowerments (Jenangs)

“Praise of Dependent Arising” is Lama Tsongkhapa’s joyful explanation of emptiness and dependent arising. With gratitude to Shakyamuni Buddha, foremost teacher of this profound wisdom, Tsongkhapa gives a clear and precise wisdom teaching.

Beloved teacher and scholar Dagri Rinpoche is well qualified to explain Tsongkhapa’s profound and beautiful text. Rinpoche is well known for his warmth, clarity, and kindness. We are delighted that he will return to the Abbey. Watch his 2013 teachings on Chenrezig.

Rinpoche teaches in Tibetan with English interpretation.

Born in Tibet in 1958, Dagri Rinpoche grew up during the Communist Chinese Cultural Revolution of 1966-1976. He was recognized at an early age as the reincarnation of Pari (Dagri) Dorje Chang, one of the very great geshes of Lhasa. However, the political situation in Tibet prohibited religious training. Rinpoche eventually escaped to India in 1983. He began 17 years of study at Sera Je monastic college and attained the highest degree, geshe lharampa. A popular teacher, he is especially devoted to serving His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Kyabje Zopa Rinpoche. Read his full bio.
