Canceled – Working with Afflictive Minds with Geshe Dadul Namgyal, Part 3

August 18, 2023 - August 20, 2023

Cancelled due to unforeseen situations

Working with Afflictive Minds, Part 3
with Geshe Tenzin Chodrak (Dadul Namgyal)

August 18-20

In-person and online

Abbess teaches.

Buddhism identifies afflictive mental states as the true cause of our unhappiness, and teaches methods to challenge and eventually overcome them.

What are afflictive mental states? Experiences like craving, hatred, jealousy, arrogance, resentment, distorted thoughts, wrong presumptions … the list is long. By studying what they are and how they afflict us, we are motivated to learn how to overcome them.

The first step is identifying them in ourselves and owning them, and then seeing their destructive nature and cultivating a stance of caution against them. Next, we learn how they are generated in us, and, finally, acquaint ourselves with the variety of antidotes and how to apply them accordingly.

This weekend session continues the basics that Geshe Tenzin Chodrak (Dadul Namgyal) presented in on June 17th and on July 28-30th. Follow the links to see the previous teachings.

Attendance at the previous sessions is not required.

Arrive by 3 pm Friday. Ends 4 pm on Sunday.
