Shantideva’s
Engaging in the Bodhisattva’s Deeds
with Ven. Sangye Khadro

Weekly on Wednesdays

March 5 – July 30

6-8 pm Pacific Time

on Zoom

Ven. Sangye Khadro teaches Shantideva’s classic text, Bodhisattvacharyavatara, often translated as “Engaging in the Bodhisattva’s Deeds.” It’s a well-loved road map to awakening. His Holiness the Dalai Lama famously attributes any realization of compassion and bodhicitta he has to his study and practice of this text.

Composed in the 8th century, the text comprises ten chapters and more than 1,000 verses, providing precious and practical advice on how to cultivate the state of mind and way of life of a bodhisattva, someone who aspires to become a Buddha for the benefit of all beings.

Note this is the second part of a class that started in September 2024. New students are welcome to join but we are already up to chapter six. All registered students will be supplied with a link to the recordings of part one of this class as well as the text and commentary.

The class is a unit in the FPMT Basic Program curriculum.

This is part of Tse Chen Ling’s year-long “Women of Wisdom” series.
