The Dharma treasury we receive from Gen Rinpoche Geshe Yeshe Thabkhe continues when he begins online teachings on Nagarjuna’s The Precious Garland of Advice for a King (Ratnavali), on Monday mornings, beginning June 2-30, with excellent English interpretation by Katrina Brooks.
Nagarjuna was a renowned Indian Buddhist teacher-practitioner, widely considered to be the founder of the Middle Way philosophical school. The Precious Garland is his personal, practical 500-verse guide to an unnamed monarch on how to live and rule within the Buddhist view for the welfare of his people, to attain fortunate rebirths and, ultimately, full awakening. The text is freely available as a PDF at Lama Yeshe Wisdom Archive.
Geshe Thabkhe is known as one of the greatest living scholars of the Tibetan tradition, based on his long lifetime of impeccable learning, study, practice, and teaching. Holder of a Lharampa degree from Drepung Loseling Monastic College, he is an emeritus professor at the Central University of Tibetan Studies in Sarnath, India.
